Powers & Jurisdiction

The Civil Appellate High Court of Anuradhapura is vested with appellate, revisionary, and writ jurisdiction over judgments, decrees, and orders delivered by the District Courts and Family Courts within North Central Province.

Civil Appellate Jurisdiction

Hears and determines appeals arising from judgments, decrees, and orders of the District Courts and Family Courts in the exercise of their original jurisdiction.

Revisionary Jurisdiction

Exercises revisionary powers, handles writ applications, and considers applications for leave to appeal, acceleration, and appeals notwithstanding lapse of time.
